Davis is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Crash by 12 Stones. Johnny Davis has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Micheangelo Fripello and Ryoma Takatsuka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Davis shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Mifsud napping and manages to drive through into side control!
The ground and pound from Davis seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Mifsud is trying to get back to half guard.

Mifsud escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Davis gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Davis wants to control from the top but Mifsud keeps moving.
Mifsud is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Davis defends well.
Davis throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Mifsud works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Davis is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Johnny Davis has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Davis looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Mifsud is fending him off so far but Davis persists. Nope, Mifsud circles away and we're back to standing.
Mifsud leaves Davis with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Mifsud throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.

Davis connects with a nice looking jab.

Davis clobbers Mifsud with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Mifsud connects with an inside leg kick.

Mifsud displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Davis throws out the jab.
Davis swings for the body but Mifsud moves out of range.
A jab from Davis finds it's way through Mifsud's defenses.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

and Davis takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Davis misses with a straight left.
Michael Mifsud is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
A looping hook to the body misses from Davis. Mifsud does a little dance to reset his feet.
Mifsud throws a nice inside leg kick.
A head kick misses from Mifsud.
Davis bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Mifsud's head.
Davis stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Mifsud has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Mifsud there as he acknowledges the shot.
Mifsud is rocked!

Mifsud gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Davis gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Mifsud is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 9:07 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Johnny Davis!
