PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bang McGee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brick Fist (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McGee comes to the cage accompanied by Metallica - All Nightmare Long. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Bang McGee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Brick Fist!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Paul Gruel and Micheangelo Fripello.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McGee uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Fist.
McGee stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Fist misses with an uppercut.
Left hook, right uppercut from Fist.


It looks like Bang McGee has been cut.
Fist waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract McGee.

Fist has McGee up against the cage in a clinch.
McGee tries a body shot but Fist blocks it.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Fist fails to pull the fight into his guard.
McGee swings away with an uppercut that misses.
McGee looking to throw knees to the head but Fist is blocking nicely.
Fist blocks an uppercut.
McGee lands with a short shot to the head.
McGee lands a right hand.
Fist is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables McGee to keep the fight standing.
McGee tries to land a knee to the head but misses.

Fist ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Fist no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

McGee is landing with some decent strikes but Fist is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

You get the feeling that Fist really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Fist tries to lock up and control but McGee gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Fist is in all sorts of trouble here.
Fist is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
McGee controlling the position easily from mount.
McGee lands a big shot there that rocks Fist but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Fist bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Fist tries to free his leg and advance position but McGee is retaining full guard.
McGee wants to stand and escape but Fist is having none of it.

McGee seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Fist wants to control from the top but McGee keeps moving.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Bang McGee just wasn't active enough.
Fist changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. McGee tries to avoid it but Fist manages to keep hold of a leg and drag McGee to the ground. McGee escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Bang McGee has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brick Fist.

Fist is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by McGee.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Sloppy strikes from Fist. Those never looked like landing.
Fist scores with a one two! McGee had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
McGee keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Fist lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
McGee uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Fist.

That has opened up Brick Fist's cut even more.
Fist looks to throw the jab but McGee is out of range.
McGee connects with a high kick.

Fist swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Fist rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and McGee counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
McGee scoring well with a low kick there.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
McGee lands a hook that snaps the head of Fist backwards.
McGee tries a knee to the head but he's missed.

Fist has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics McGee uses from the top position.

McGee thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Fist swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
A big left from Fist misses.
McGee feints and then cracks Fist's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Fist down.
McGee misses with a straight left.
Brick Fist seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fist takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

McGee will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Brick Fist seems to be getting the better of the standup.

McGee digs a right hand into Fist's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Fist's gas tank.
McGee throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Fist blocks it with crossed arms.
A nice left hand lands by McGee.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Bang McGee is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.


Brick Fist's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

McGee tries to throw a body punch but Fist avoids it by throwing McGee back against the cage.
McGee throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Fist blocks it with crossed arms.
McGee scores with a shoulder strike.

Fist wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
McGee keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Fist's efforts to push away.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
McGee lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Bang McGee showed his dominance in that final round.
I think McGee has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
