The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cage misses with a wild body shot.
Andrews looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Cris Cage seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Cage shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Andrews as he jumps to the side.

Andrews is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Cage can't fight it off and eventually Andrews manages to take the fight to the floor. Cage looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Cage throws a sloppy head kick and Andrews moves out of range easily.
Cage fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Andrews looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

and Andrews takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Andrews is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.


It looks like Paul Andrews has been cut.

and Andrews counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Andrews wants to get up but he can't break Cage's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Cage is looking for a triangle but Andrews pushes his legs off easily.

Cage had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Andrews is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Cage Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Andrews's back instead.
Andrews is taking damage to the body and head.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Paul Andrews.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Andrews, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
