The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mondragon leaves Gracie with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Gracie shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Gracie was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Mondragon pushes Gracie off looking to stand but Gracie dives back in and keeps control.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Mondragon wants to get back to full guard.
Gracie stops Mondragon from getting back to his feet.
Gracie slips a nice elbow through Mondragon's hands, connecting with Mondragon's forehead.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rolles Gracie dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Gracie looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Mondragon is fending him off so far but Gracie persists. Nope, Mondragon circles away and we're back to standing.
Mondragon slaps away a takedown attempt from Gracie, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Mondragon scores with a one two! Gracie had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Mondragon moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

It looks like Rolles Gracie has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Gracie takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Mondragon scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Gracie is rocked!

Oooooh!!! Mondragon has knocked Gracie down with a huge combo! Mondragon steps away and waves a wobbly Gracie back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
Gracie is still on wobbly legs! Can Mondragon finish him?
Mondragon finds Gracie's off switch, with a big overhand right that connects perfectly to the side of the head! Gracie flops back against the cage, eyes gazing into the distance. Mondragon lands an unnecessary shot before the referee has time to step in and end the fight. Brutal stuff but I'm sure Gracie will be OK.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:45 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Geronimo Mondragon!
Geronimo Mondragon decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
