Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kip Flenderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Meeoff (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Meeoff is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by bawitaba. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kip Flenderson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 11 - 1, fighting out of New York, Jack Meeoff!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, David Schapiro and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Meeoff swinging wildly here.
Meeoff throws a right and a left that Flenderson avoids nicely.
Meeoff shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Flenderson pinned against the cage. Flenderson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Meeoff tries for a takedown but Flenderson sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Flenderson pulls out of a head kick attempt.
The fighters circle momentarily. Meeoff darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Meeoff throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Meeoff is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Meeoff misses with a wild combination.
Flenderson throws out a powerful jab.
Meeoff tries to clinch up.
Meeoff shoots in but no luck this time.
Kip Flenderson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jack Meeoff.

Meeoff gets a takedown into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Meeoff missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Meeoff wants to lay and pray for a moment but Flenderson keeps working.
Flenderson is looking for a sweep. Meeoff is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Meeoff is looking for a kimura but Flenderson is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Meeoff to get the leverage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Flenderson is defending against the submission attempts here by Meeoff.
Flenderson gets back to full guard.
Meeoff has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Meeoff stands up from Flenderson's guard - Meeoff perhaps looking for a knockout.

Meeoff closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Meeoff lands in his opponent's guard.
Meeoff trying to control the position from guard on top but Flenderson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Flenderson is working an open guard so Meeoff takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Flenderson tries to land a front kick but Meeoff steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Flenderson enables Meeoff to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Flenderson manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Meeoff controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Meeoff stopping the sweep attempt from Flenderson.
Meeoff passes Flenderson's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Meeoff is trying to control the action in half guard but Flenderson is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Flenderson on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Flenderson tries to get out of the position.
Flenderson is trying to control but can't.

Meeoff is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Flenderson wants to get back to full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Flenderson is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Meeoff scores with a couple of nice shots.

Meeoff seems to be looking for submissions.
Meeoff prevents Flenderson from improving his position.

Meeoff is working for a kimura but Flenderson is defending it quite comfortably.

Meeoff is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Flenderson is refusing to be controlled, as Meeoff sits in half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jack Meeoff dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Meeoff misses with a few strikes there.
Flenderson stuffs the takedown attempt from Meeoff. Meeoff gets slowly back to his feet.
Sloppy strikes from Meeoff. Those never looked like landing.

Jack Meeoff is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Flenderson attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Meeoff throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Meeoff tries a head kick but it misses.

Flenderson slaps away a takedown attempt from Meeoff, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Kip Flenderson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jack Meeoff.
Flenderson throws a hook to the side of Meeoff's head but Meeoff sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
No joy there for Meeoff, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Flenderson lands with a thumping leg kick.
Meeoff changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Flenderson tries to avoid it but Meeoff manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Flenderson to the ground. Flenderson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Meeoff is breathing heavily.
Meeoff rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Flenderson moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Meeoff keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
No luck for Meeoff with that takedown attempt.
Flenderson throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Meeoff takes one to the chin there.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Meeoff tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Flenderson paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Flenderson tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Flenderson throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.


It looks like Jack Meeoff has been cut.
Meeoff checks a low kick from Flenderson.
Meeoff throws a combination that misses
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Meeoff fails to land the takedown.
Flenderson throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Kip Flenderson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Meeoff keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Good leg kick by Flenderson there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Flenderson moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Flenderson connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Flenderson lands a nice leg kick that just misses Meeoff's sensitive parts.
Flenderson lands a leg kick that knocks Meeoff off balance momentarily.
Flenderson throws a solid leg kick but Meeoff takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Flenderson.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Flenderson.
Flenderson's jab looks to have found its range, popping Meeoff under the eye.
Flenderson dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Flenderson swings for the body but Meeoff moves out of range.
Meeoff moves out of range of the body kick.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Flenderson.

A determined Kip Flenderson didn't want to dwell on this fight in his post fight interview. Instead he was more keen to state he wants a title shot. Let's see if he gets it!
