The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Dean Styles and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McDermot throws a hook but Kerns blocks it.
McDermot swats away the attempt to clinch by Kerns.
Kerns fails with an attempt to clinch.
Kerns misses with a low kick.
Kerns misses with an uppercut
and McDermot counters with a lovely shot to the body.
A big left from McDermot misses.
Kerns throws an ugly left hook that misses
and McDermot makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Kerns throws a hook but McDermot avoids it easily.
McDermot ducks under a wild hook from Kerns.
McDermot checks a leg kick.
A low kick from Kerns is predictable there
and McDermot counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Kerns scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
McDermot throws a lazy right hand but Kerns sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

and Kerns counters with a nice uppercut.
McDermot avoids a kick to the body.
Kerns tries to clinch up but McDermot circles away and keeps his distance.

McDermot connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Kerns momentarily.
McDermot keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Kerns buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Kerns tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but McDermot was well out of range. Poor timing from Kerns.

No joy there for McDermot, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
McDermot thuds his right hand into Kerns's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

McDermot connects with a leg kick. Kerns looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Oooooh!!! McDermot has knocked Kerns down with a huge combo! McDermot steps away and waves a wobbly Kerns back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Oh Kerns is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
McDermot slips a straight right by Kerns.
Kerns is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

and McDermot counters with a slapping leg kick.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
McDermot works the jab nicely.
McDermot throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Kerns sees it coming and avoids it easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

McDermot fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Kerns has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
McDermot moves out of range of the strikes.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Kerns throws a sloppy body shot
and McDermot counters with a big right hand! Oh Kerns is in trouble here! McDermot follows up with more strikes and that's it! The ref has stopped it!
