Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Scotty Henry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dayne Beams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Scotty Henry!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dayne Beams!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Hugh Johnson and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Beams gets a takedown into half guard.
Henry trying to control from the bottom.
Beams throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Beams not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Henry wants to control but Beams passes into side.
Beams misses with the ground and pound.
Beams working the ground and pound but Henry is defending the strikes.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Henry wants to control but Beams postures up.
Beams remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Beams works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.

Beams decides to stand back up. Beams steps back and let's Henry get back to his feet.
Beams misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Henry closes the distance but Beams moves to the side

and Beams counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Beams tries to free his leg and advance position but Henry is retaining full guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Henry is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Beams is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Beams slips nicely into half guard.
Henry is looking to improve his position.
Beams controlling the action here.
Beams looks to land a strike but Henry avoids it nicely and regains full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Henry looking for a sweep. Not yet Henry, not yet.
Henry wants to stand but Beams is controlling the position.
Henry is breathing heavily.
Beams sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Beams wants to control from the top but Henry keeps moving.

Dayne Beams has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Henry tries to sprawl but Beams drives through with a takedown into half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Beams trying to mount his opponent but Henry defends it.
Henry pushes Beams off but Beams dives into side control.
Beams looks up at the clock and then as Henry takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Beams smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Henry takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Henry is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Beams decides to stand up, so the ref orders Henry to his feet.
This has been an exciting period of action!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Beams dives in and grabs Henry's left leg, looking for a takedown. Henry pushes down on Beams's head and hops out.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dayne Beams dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


Beams throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Henry gets tackled into the cage by Beams. Beams maintains the clinch.
A frustrated look appears on Henry's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Henry jumps guard but Beams stands there with Henry around his waist. Henry gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Beams's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Beams closes the distance and clinches.
Henry jumps guard but Beams turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Beams drags the fight down to the ground.
Henry slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Beams trying to control but Henry flips him over like a cheap hooker and has his back!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Beams trying to control the action but Henry just sinks the hooks in.
Henry is hanging on to Beams's back as he tries to escape.
Beams is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.

Beams is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Henry gets his way!
Beams wants to escape the position.
Henry tries to keep control of the position but Beams is staying busy.
Henry doesn't have the hooks in and Beams manages to turn into his guard.
Dayne Beams has got the better of the ground game so far.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Beams throws a big right hand that misses.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Beams loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Beams stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Henry showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Beams.
Beams tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Henry swivels and escapes.
Henry throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
A big left from Beams misses.
Henry throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.

Henry darts in and clinches Beams up against the cage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Beams breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Henry is looking to clinch.
Henry throws a hook but Beams blocks it.
Henry moves out of range as Beams throws a body kick.

Beams throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Henry was covering up waiting for the punch and Beams finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Henry is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Henry has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Beams is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Henry.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Beams stands up.
A head kick misses from Beams.

Beams clinches.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Beams has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Henry uses from the top position.
Henry wants to control from the top but Beams keeps moving.

Dayne Beams showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Henry misses with a combination

and Beams counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Henry regains full guard. Nicely done.
Beams controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Beams trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Beams looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Dayne Beams was stalling too much, according to the referee.
No luck for Henry with that takedown attempt.

Henry tries to close the distance and clinch but Beams swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Beams shoots in for a double leg but Henry sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Beams fails with an attempt to clinch.

Beams takes the fight into the clinch.
Henry tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Beams manages to pull guard.
Beams trying to control the position.
Henry stopping the sweep attempt from Beams.

Beams wants to stand and escape but Henry is having none of it.
Beams is trying to hold Henry in close to prevent damage but Henry has managed to pass into half guard.
Beams tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.

Beams kicks off Henry and gets to his feet.

Henry works Beams's body with a nice hook.
Beams swats away the attempt to clinch by Henry.
Beams blocks a head kick by Henry.

Henry scores a takedown into full mount!
Henry unloads with some shots from mount but Beams bucks and avoids them well.

Beams tries to buck Henry off but Henry takes his back!
Henry has good solid back control here.

Beams is trying to shake Henry off. He's managed it and has hopped back to his feet! Henry won't be happy about giving up the dominant position.
Henry throws a right hand that Beams ducks under and follows up with a left that Beams also avoids with ease.
Henry shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Beams counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Beams.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Beams jumps guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Beams wants to sweep here but Henry controlling him for the moment.
Scotty Henry has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Dayne Beams is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Beams keeping moving, preventing Henry from controlling successfully.

Dayne Beams comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Beams winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
