Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Toshi Matoshin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Doc Holliday (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Matoshin might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Mortal Kombat theme. Toshi Matoshin has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Toshi Matoshin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Doc Holliday!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Paulsen Ambrosius and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matoshin is trying hard to land a takedown here. Holliday sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Holliday throws a series of punches but Matoshin moves out of range.
Holliday thows a left - swing and a miss!
Holliday swats away the attempt to clinch by Matoshin.
Matoshin misses with a head kick.
Matoshin keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Matoshin slips a jab and a cross from Holliday.
Holliday throws a lazy right hand but Matoshin sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Matoshin has Holliday pressed against the cage, preventing Holliday from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Holliday drops down looking for an ankle pick but Matoshin pulls his leg out and moves away.

Holliday tries to keep at a distance but Matoshin has taken the fight into the clinch.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Matoshin takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Holliday is trying to pull guard but Matoshin turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Holliday is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Matoshin pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Holliday wants to take the fight to the mat but Matoshin manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Holliday is trying to drag Matoshin to the mat but Matoshin just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
The referee calls for Matoshin to work.
Matoshin gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.

It looks like Doc Holliday has been cut.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Toshi Matoshin.
Holliday misses with a low kick.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Matoshin darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Holliday throws the kick towards the body but Matoshin avoids it.

Matoshin instigates a clinch.
Holliday has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Matoshin is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Matoshin lands a left hand that snaps the head of Holliday backwards.

Holliday changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Matoshin fights it off and pushes away nicely.

so Matoshin counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Matoshin is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Holliday is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Holliday has escaped and now he's on top!

Matoshin is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Holliday defends well.
Matoshin controls Holliday momentarily but Holliday frees himself.

Matoshin has his foot on Holliday's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Holliday works his way back into a safe position though.

Matoshin is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Matoshin wants to improve his position but instead Holliday has moved into half guard.
Holliday working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Holliday takes a little break here. Matoshin wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Holliday lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Matoshin down.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Matoshin takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

This has been an exciting period of action!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Holliday takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Doc Holliday will probably get the nod - 10:9.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Matoshin displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Holliday throws out the jab.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Horrible takedown by Holliday or perhaps it was just good defense by Matoshin which made him look bad.
