Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Martin Furda!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Steve Cantwell!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and .




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Cantwell.
Cantwell tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Furda swivels and escapes.
Furda uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Cantwell.

Cantwell shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Cantwell was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Furda wants to control but Cantwell is having none of it.
Cantwell lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Furda in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Cantwell is landing with some decent strikes but Furda is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Furda tries to hold on but Cantwell pushes him away.

Cantwell wants to control the pace but Furda is squirming around nicely.

Cantwell wants to finish this one by submission but Furda is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Cantwell.
Cantwell prevents Furda from getting the reversal.
Furda is trying to stand up.
Cantwell can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Furda is looking to escape.

Furda in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Furda tries to reverse the position but Cantwell maintains control.

Furda is desperately trying to improve his position but Cantwell has a good base and remains in mount.
Furda is breathing heavily.
Cantwell cracks Furda with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Furda wants to control but Cantwell is having none of it.
Cantwell lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Furda hang on?
Furda tries to hold on but Cantwell postures up.

Furda defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Cantwell.
Cantwell looking to control and managing it successfully.
Cantwell lands a heavy elbow.

Furda regains half guard.
Furda won't allow Cantwell to pass to mount.
Cantwell not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Cantwell wants to lay and pray for a moment but Furda keeps working.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Furda is trying to stand back up but Cantwell is controlling him
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Cantwell lands with a punch from half guard.
Furda trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Steve Cantwell dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Furda closes the distance and clinches up with Cantwell, looking for a takedown. Furda pushes Cantwell against the cage but Cantwell circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Furda misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Furda misses with a right hand
and Cantwell counters with a series of strikes. Furda will be more careful next time no doubt.

Furda gets tackled into the cage by Cantwell. Cantwell maintains the clinch.
Cantwell is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Furda manages to break the clinch.
Furda throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Cantwell scores a takedown into full mount!
This has been an exciting period of action!

Cantwell tries to control but Furda wriggling away.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Furda wants to control but Cantwell is having none of it.

Cantwell postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Furda looks a forlorn figure.
Furda on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Furda tries to get out of the position.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Steve Cantwell showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! And we move into the final round!



Cantwell shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Cantwell showed some decent athleticism there.
Furda wants to get back to full guard.
Furda wants to control but Cantwell is keeping busy.
Furda is staying active underneath Cantwell, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Cantwell is looking for a kimura but Furda is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Cantwell to get the leverage.

Furda is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Cantwell is aware though and is defending well.

Cantwell working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Furda looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Cantwell! Submission of the night perhaps?

A very excited looking Steve Cantwell made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
