PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kim Hendi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Millar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Millar has chosen We Are The Champions as his entrance music. On his way into the cage it seems that Kim Hendi has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Kim Hendi seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kim Hendi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Michael Millar!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Yukihiro Shimada.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hendi moves into the clinch.
Millar tries for a takedown. No joy.
Hendi wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Hendi decides to pull guard.

Millar trying to control the position from guard on top but Hendi is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Hendi wants to sweep but no luck.

Millar stands up from Hendi's guard - Millar perhaps looking for a knockout.
Millar stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Millar wants it to stay on the feet.

Hendi has taken the fight to the clinch.

Millar successfully pulls guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Millar manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Hendi manages to get himself to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Millar throwing strikes but missing.
Hendi wants to sweep but no luck.
Hendi has a closed guard, preventing Millar from standing up.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Hendi holds on and takes a little breather.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Hendi uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Millar.
Millar stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Millar wants it to stay on the feet.
Hendi looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kim Hendi. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Millar throws a wild body kick that Hendi sees coming a mile off.
Hendi shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Millar throws a nice head kick!


It looks like Kim Hendi has been cut.
Hendi will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Millar shoots for a takedown but Hendi saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Millar looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Hendi shoots in looking for a takedown. Millar tries to sprawl out of it but Hendi keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Millar manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Millar is defended easily by Hendi.
Hendi circles away from the clinch attempt
and Hendi counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Hendi clinches up with Millar and pushes him back against the cage.
Millar fails to pull guard.
Millar looks gassed!
Millar tries a body shot but Hendi blocks it.
Millar tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Hendi smiles and moves away.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Hendi looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Hendi takes the fight into the clinch.
Millar misses with an elbow strike.
Hendi looking for a takedown.
Millar changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Hendi fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Hendi lands a left and a right that send Millar crashing to the mat, dazed. Hendi thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!


It looks like Michael Millar has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Hendi misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kim Hendi dominated that round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Hendi tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Millar swivels and escapes.
Hendi lands with a nice combination. Millar backs away looking to recover.
Millar stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Millar wants it to stay on the feet.
Millar tries to clinch but fails miserably
letting Hendi counter with a right hand.
Millar leaves Hendi with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kim Hendi. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Hendi looks for a takedown but Millar sprawls well.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Hendi.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Horrible takedown by Hendi or perhaps it was just good defense by Millar which made him look bad.

Millar pushes Hendi up against the cage in a clinch.
Hendi has had enough of the clinch but Millar keeps him there for the moment.
Millar is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Hendi gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Millar pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Hendi moves into the clinch successfully.

Millar successfully pulls guard.
Millar will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Hendi has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Millar to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Hendi is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Millar pulls down on the head and he's put Hendi to sleep! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Michael Millar!
