Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Lucas Lunar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Craig Mason (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Lucas Lunar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Craig Mason!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Ian Loll and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mason pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Lunar scores with a nice right hand.
Lunar avoids the head kick by Mason.
Mason looks to land a combination but Lunar avoids it well.
Mason tries a head kick but it misses.
Lunar thows a body shot but no joy.
Lunar will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Mason lands with a nice body punch.
Lunar throws a head kick that half lands.


It looks like Craig Mason has been cut.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Mason.
Mason fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Lunar manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Lunar is trying to control the action in half guard but Mason is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Lunar passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Mason!
Lunar wants to take his opponent's back but Mason doesn't allow it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mason really wants to buck Lunar off and get back to his feet.
Mason controls the position.

Lunar goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Mason is on top in guard.
Mason trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Lunar has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Mason can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Lunar working a defensive guard but Mason passes into half guard.
Mason is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Lunar is trying to get back to full guard.
Lunar is pressing down on Mason's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Lunar is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Mason controls from within his opponent's guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Lunar throws his legs up looking for a submission but Mason uses it to pass to side control.
Lunar is trying to control Mason's posture but Mason avoids it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Lunar is looking to regain half guard here but Mason keeps moving and retains side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mason wants to lay and pray for a moment but Lunar keeps working.
Lunar is looking for a sweep.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Mason throws a head kick that misses
and Lunar cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Mason bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Lunar bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Mason's head.


Mason is rocked!
Mason will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lucas Lunar dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Craig Mason's cut.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Mason misses with an uppercut.
Mason throws a combination that misses
and Lunar cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Mason is still on wobbly legs! Can Lunar finish him?
A big right followed by a crushing left from Lunar knocks Mason out cold! Ouch - that one's going to be featured in highlight reels for years to come!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:12 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Lucas Lunar!
