The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jerry misses with a takedown attempt - Gunner sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Jerry pushes Gunner up against the cage in a clinch.
Gunner is pressed up against the cage. Jerry has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Gunner down to the mat. Gunner avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Jerry shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Gunner pinned against the cage. Gunner gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Jerry closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Gunner lands an elbow inside that Jerry shrugs off.

Gunner fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Jerry manages to avoid it.
Gunner throws a chopping leg kick but Jerry manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Gunner tries to clinch but Jerry is having none of it.

Gunner with the ground and pound but Jerry regains half guard under the barage of strikes.
Gunner wants to pass to mount but Jerry is defending the position.
Gunner slips a nice elbow through Jerry's hands, connecting with Jerry's forehead.
Gunner is keen to just control but Jerry is a slippery customer.
Jerry is looking to control Gunner's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Jerry avoid being mounted?

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gunner content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Gunner throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Gunner stops Jerry from getting back to his feet.

Gunner is looking for a kimura but Jerry is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Gunner to get the leverage.

Gunner is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Jerry doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Gunner.
Gunner is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Gunner lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Jerry throws a head kick but Gunner moves out of range.
Nice takedown defense from Gunner. No joy for Jerry on that attempt.
Jerry tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Gunner swivels and escapes.
Gunner scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Jerry doesn't seem bothered though.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Jerry checks a leg kick.
Pahis Jerry seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Jerry feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Gunner escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Jerry gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Gunner has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Jerry off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Pahis Jerry is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Jerry tries for a takedown but Gunner sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Jerry gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Gunner to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Gunner keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Jerry's head.
Gunner really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jerry. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Gunner might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Jerry kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Gunner shoots in and bounces Jerry off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Jerry manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Gunner lands a left and a right that sends Jerry crashing to the canvas! Gunner dives into mount looking to finish!
