Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Tommy Commio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matthew Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Smith is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Big and Red by EC. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Smith fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Commio, pushing him back against the cage.
Smith stalling.
Smith is leaning against Commio and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.

Commio manages to break the clinch.
Commio swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Smith counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Smith stops Commio from standing up.
Smith wants to control from the top but Commio keeps moving.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Matthew Smith.

Commio is trying to push Smith away but Smith has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Commio gets underhooks to prevent Smith's takedown attempt.

and Smith counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Commio wants to stand and escape but Smith is having none of it.
Smith passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Smith wants to lay and pray for a moment but Commio keeps working.
Smith creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Commio knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Smith on the ground.

Smith seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Commio does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Commio is looking to escape.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Smith is standing up over Commio. Commio looks to escape but Smith dives into side control.
Commio wants to get back to his feet but Smith is dominant here and he's now got Commio's back!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
