Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kenji Hirosima (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Stevens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mike Stevens is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kenji Hirosima!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mike Stevens!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Sosuke Kotani and Hirohito Nitta.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stevens is trying hard to land a takedown here. Hirosima sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Stevens tries for a takedown but Hirosima sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Stevens shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Hirosima counters with a shoot takedown. Stevens fights it but they end up in guard.
Kenji Hirosima has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mike Stevens.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Stevens looking for subs off his back but Hirosima has passed one foot through into half guard.
Stevens is in trouble now - Hirosima has advanced to mount!
Hirosima tries to control but Stevens wriggling away.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Hirosima wants to finish this one by submission but Stevens is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Hirosima.

Hirosima lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.

The fight stays on the outside here - Stevens looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

and Stevens decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Hirosima's guard.
Stevens tries to free his leg and advance position but Hirosima is retaining full guard.

Stevens really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hirosima. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Stevens postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Stevens throws an elbow that misses. Hirosima uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Stevens's guard. Nice move by Hirosima!

Stevens escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hirosima gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mike Stevens showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

and Stevens counters with a takedown into side control.

Stevens is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Hirosima knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Hirosima parries the strikes from Stevens easily there. Stevens is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Hirosima to escape.

Stevens trying to control the position but Hirosima is working away.
Hirosima regains half guard there - taking advantage of Stevens's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.

Stevens is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Stevens takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Stevens seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Hirosima does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
The fighters are battling for position here. Hirosima manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Stevens is looking to work some ground and pound but Hirosima has wrist control.

Stevens decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Hirosima, up you get!

Stevens flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Hirosima is trying to control the action in half guard but Stevens is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Stevens is defending against the submission attempts here by Hirosima.
Hirosima is just content to waste time from the top position. Stevens takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

We're going to have a standup here because Kenji Hirosima wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Hirosima has a takedown stuffed.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Stevens fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Hirosima, pushing him back against the ropes.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Mike Stevens.
I think Stevens has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
