Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dwight Howard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chael Bravo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Howard kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is superman theme. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dwight Howard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chael Bravo!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Howard clinches.
Bravo throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Bravo blocks an uppercut.
Bravo misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Howard.
Howard blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Howard manages to break the clinch.
Bravo throws a right and a left that Howard avoids nicely.
Bravo swinging wildly here.
Bravo shoots in looking for a takedown. Howard tries to sprawl out of it but Bravo keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Howard manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Howard moves into the clinch.
Bravo creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Howard misses with some punches.

Howard pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Howard stuffs the takedown.
Bravo gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Bravo circles away from the clinch attempt.
Bravo misses with a takedown attempt - Howard sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Dwight Howard has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chael Bravo.
Bravo will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Howard lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.


It looks like Chael Bravo has been cut.
Howard tries to close the distance and clinch up but Bravo swats him away and circles back towards the center.

The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.

Howard breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Bravo scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Howard looks to score with a jab to the body but Bravo is just out of range.

Bravo throws a sloppy head kick and Howard moves out of range easily.

Bravo is trying desperately to land a takedown but Howard is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Bravo.

Bravo closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Howard's guard.
Bravo looks gassed!
Bravo working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Howard is trying to keep Bravo in close.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Dwight Howard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

No joy there for Howard, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Bravo lands with an overhand left.
Bravo looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Bravo will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Bravo throws a right and a left that Howard avoids nicely.
Howard throws out a loose jab but Bravo uses good head movement to avoid it.
Howard stuffs the takedown attempt from Bravo. Bravo gets slowly back to his feet.
Howard connects with a body shot that sends Bravo's belly button to the back.
Bravo rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Howard moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Dwight Howard is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Bravo is breathing heavily.
Bravo swings and misses with a hook to the body.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Bravo.
Howard misses with a lunging right hand
and Bravo counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
A bone on bone clash there as Howard blocks the leg kick.
Howard wants to slow Bravo down by chopping away at his legs.

Howard connects with a right hand. Bravo shakes it off.
Howard tries to close the distance and clinch but Bravo swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Howard lands a right hand that snaps the head of Bravo backwards.

Howard tries to clinch there but Bravo circles away.
Bravo fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Bravo uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Howard.
Bravo avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Howard throws a body punch but Bravo moves out of range.
Bravo looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Howard is fending him off so far but Bravo persists. Nope, Howard circles away and we're back to standing.
Dwight Howard has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chael Bravo.
Bravo throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Howard's waist but Howard gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Bravo off to one side.
Howard is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

Bravo avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Bravo misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Bravo is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Bravo throws a nice looking combination but Howard bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Howard is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Bravo is defended easily by Howard.

Bravo misses with an attempted mid kick.
Nice sprawl there from Howard as Bravo shoots in.
Bravo takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.


That has opened up Chael Bravo's cut even more.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Bravo tries to score a power double leg takedown but Howard sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Bravo somewhat.
Howard looks for a left high kick but can't connect. Howard backs up to catch a breather... no he lunges forward with a huge flying knee that smacks Bravo's temple! It sends Bravo violently to the canvas! The crowd goes nuts as Howard celebrates and the doctors try to help Bravo!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Flying Knee). Dwight Howard!
Dwight Howard took to the mic after the fight and begged the organizational hierarchy for a shot at the title.
