Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dan Benson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Orlando Tyson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Benson kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Mobb Deep - Shook Ones. Tyson has chosen Eye of the Tiger as his entrance music. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A low kick from Benson is predictable there

and Tyson counters with a takedown into side control.
Benson on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Benson tries to get out of the position.
Tyson postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Benson is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Tyson is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Benson is defending well though. Tyson let's go of the attempt for now.

Tyson is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Benson defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Tyson seems to be going for a rear naked choke. He has an arm under Benson's chin but Benson turns very nicely into Tyson's guard. Good BJJ skills being displayed there by Benson.

Benson wants to stand and escape but instead Tyson has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Benson lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Tyson circles away quickly and effectively.

Horrible takedown by Tyson or perhaps it was just good defense by Benson which made him look bad.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Tyson is defended easily by Benson.
Tyson shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Benson defends it nicely.
No joy there for Benson, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Benson throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Tyson's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Benson dives in looking to finish as Tyson flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Benson's strikes! Benson is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Tyson's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Tyson was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.
