PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Peter Piper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Holden Topokrs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Holden Topokrs was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Piper has managed to clinch.
Piper drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Topokrs gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Topokrs is looking for a takedown.

Piper breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Topokrs enables Piper to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Topokrs manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Topokrs wants to sweep but no luck.
Topokrs is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Topokrs keeping moving, preventing Piper from controlling successfully.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Piper postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Topokrs has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Piper tries to clinch but Topokrs moves out of range.

Peter Piper seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Piper is trying hard to land a takedown here. Topokrs sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Topokrs swats away the attempt to clinch by Piper.
Topokrs throws a right and a left that Piper avoids nicely.

Topokrs stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Topokrs wants it to stay on the feet.
Topokrs looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Topokrs shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Piper manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Topokrs throws a strike but Piper rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Piper stands and throws Topokrs's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Topokrs is trying to work for a sweep but Piper has mounted him!

Topokrs wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Piper.
Piper lands with some strikes.
Topokrs is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Piper is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Piper extends the arm and Topokrs is forced to tap!
