PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between nashijima esquilte (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Klaus Adeeos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). esquilte's entrance music is blink 182. A fine choice. nashijima esquilte has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, nashijima esquilte!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Klaus Adeeos!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Sosuke Kotani and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
esquilte pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Adeeos avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
esquilte throws a body punch but Adeeos moves out of range.
esquilte tries to close the distance and clinch but Adeeos swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
esquilte tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Adeeos swivels and escapes.
esquilte fails with a takedown attempt.
Adeeos keeps the fight on the outside.

Adeeos looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for esquilte!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Adeeos manages to capitalize on a mistake by esquilte to take his back!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

esquilte throws a series of punches but Adeeos moves out of range.

esquilte is trying to work for a sweep but Adeeos has mounted him!
esquilte tries to hold on but Adeeos postures up.
Adeeos tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
esquilte is trying desperately to improve position.

esquilte tries to lock up and control but Adeeos gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
esquilte is trying to escape the mount.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
esquilte is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Adeeos.
Adeeos keeps control of the position as esquilte tries to break free.

Adeeos has the hooks in. esquilte is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Adeeos biding his time, controlling esquilte.
I really don't envy esquilte right now.
esquilte just trying to survive but Adeeos is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Adeeos trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure esquilte doesn't escape.
Adeeos is not going to allow esquilte to sit and survive in this position.

Klaus Adeeos showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

and Adeeos counters with a takedown into side control.
esquilte is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

esquilte is trying to reverse the position but instead Adeeos has taken his back - oops!
What can esquilte do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!
esquilte tries to break free.
Adeeos controls the position.
Let's hope that Adeeos has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
I really don't envy esquilte right now.
I would not like to be esquilte right now.
Adeeos takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
esquilte can't escape the position.

esquilte breaks Adeeos's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
esquilte trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
esquilte looking to pass the guard.
esquilte missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
esquilte clinches but Adeeos breaks the clinch

and Adeeos decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in esquilte's guard.
esquilte wants to stand but Adeeos is controlling the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

esquilte escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Adeeos gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Adeeos seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
esquilte is trying to control the position from the bottom.

And that's the end of the fight!
Klaus Adeeos comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Adeeos has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
