Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Steve Cantwell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kevin Beavis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Kevin Beavis enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Steve Cantwell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kevin Beavis!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Beavis throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Cantwell's waist but Cantwell gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Beavis off to one side.
Cantwell misses with a series of wild punches.
Beavis takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Beavis lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Cantwell circles away quickly and effectively.
Horrible takedown by Beavis or perhaps it was just good defense by Cantwell which made him look bad.
Cantwell closes this distance looking for a takedown but Beavis circles away.
Beavis tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Cantwell swivels and escapes.
Steve Cantwell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kevin Beavis.

Beavis closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Cantwell to the mat! Cantwell manages to get full guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Beavis has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Cantwell is proving hard to escape from.

Beavis wants to hold on but Cantwell pushes him away.

Cantwell with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Beavis is bucking up trying to escape but Cantwell cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Cantwell has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Beavis is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Cantwell is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Beavis can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Cantwell has hold of Beavis's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Beavis manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Cantwell has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Beavis's face.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Beavis is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Cantwell scores with a couple of good head shots there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cantwell fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Cantwell leaves Beavis with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Beavis clinches up with Cantwell and pushes him back against the cage.
Beavis goes for a takedown attempt but Cantwell pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Beavis gets tackled into the cage by Cantwell. Cantwell maintains the clinch.
Cantwell gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Beavis.
Beavis tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Beavis putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Cantwell in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.

Beavis manages to pull guard.
Cantwell postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Beavis keeping moving, preventing Cantwell from controlling successfully.
Cantwell keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Beavis's head.
Cantwell tries to free his leg and advance position but Beavis is retaining full guard.

Cantwell is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Beavis throws a few punches from the bottom. Cantwell seems unphased and he's got hold of a leg now - he's dropped back for a heel hook! He's got it! This fight is aaaaaaaaaall over!
