Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Josh Simpson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Sean Scott!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Summer Carpenter and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Scott swats away the attempt to clinch by Simpson.

Scott closes the distance and clinches.
Simpson wants a takedown.
Simpson is working for takedown but Scott is calmly controlling the position for now.

Simpson can't keep his opponent in guard - Scott advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Scott's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
I looks like Scott might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Simpson won't allow Scott to pass to mount.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Let's hope that Scott has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Simpson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Scott does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Simpson shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Scott but Scott pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Scott throws a leg kick which misses Simpson's front leg but catches the back leg as Simpson tries to avoid it.

Scott wants to control but Simpson is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Simpson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Scott's waist but Scott gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Simpson off to one side.

Simpson feints and as Scott raises his hands in defense, Simpson changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Scott lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Simpson!

You get the feeling that Simpson really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Simpson is wriggling around trying to escape.

Simpson wants to control but Scott is having none of it.

Simpson's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
