Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Genival Lacerda!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Leandro Rodrigues and Thiago Cunha.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Heggs bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Lacerda's head.
No luck for Lacerda with that takedown attempt.
Horrible takedown by Lacerda or perhaps it was just good defense by Heggs which made him look bad.
Lacerda shoots for a takedown but Heggs saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Luther Heggs has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Genival Lacerda.
Heggs circles away from the clinch attempt
and Heggs counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Lacerda misses with a takedown attempt - Heggs sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Lacerda closes this distance looking for a takedown but Heggs circles away.
Lacerda takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

It looks like Genival Lacerda has been cut.
Heggs stuffs the takedown attempt from Lacerda. Lacerda gets slowly back to his feet.
Lacerda fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

That's one minute gone in the round.

and Heggs moves into the clinch.
Lacerda tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Heggs smiles and moves away.
Heggs goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Lacerda has his takedown stuffed

and Heggs moves into the clinch.
Heggs lands a left hand.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Heggs.

Heggs pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Lacerda gets off balance looking for a body kick
and Lacerda takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Heggs pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Lacerda has a takedown stuffed.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Lacerda is trying hard to land a takedown here. Heggs sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Lacerda dives in and grabs Heggs's left leg, looking for a takedown. Heggs pushes down on Lacerda's head and hops out.
Heggs scores with a body shot.
Lacerda looks gassed!

Heggs gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Heggs lands a shoulder strike.

That has opened up Genival Lacerda's cut even more.

Heggs breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Lacerda fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Heggs avoids it really well and circles away.
Lacerda misses with a takedown
and Heggs counters with a good, hard body kick but Lacerda shrugs it off.
Heggs looks for a left high kick but can't connect. Heggs backs up to catch a breather... no he lunges forward with a huge flying knee that smacks Lacerda's temple! It sends Lacerda violently to the canvas! The crowd goes nuts as Heggs celebrates and the doctors try to help Lacerda!
