Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Don Juan DeMarco (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sean McNamara (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McNamara is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Massive Attack - Teardrop (House M.D.). This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Don Juan DeMarco!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 21 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Sean McNamara!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A punch combination from McNamara misses.
Don Juan DeMarco seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
DeMarco throws a wild body kick that McNamara sees coming a mile off.
DeMarco ducks down and throws a hook to the body but McNamara moves away.
McNamara throws a right and a left that DeMarco avoids nicely.
DeMarco on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

McNamara closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - McNamara lands in his opponent's guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

DeMarco keeping moving, preventing McNamara from controlling successfully.
McNamara slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Sean McNamara wasn't active enough on the ground.

DeMarco takes the fight into the clinch.
DeMarco's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
DeMarco wants to break the clinch but can't.
DeMarco lands a knee to the head.
DeMarco pushes McNamara back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
McNamara wants to break free but DeMarco has control.

DeMarco escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
McNamara misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
DeMarco tries to clinch but McNamara moves out of range.

McNamara manages to get an easy takedown there - catching DeMarco on his heels. He'll look to pass DeMarco's guard now, I'm sure.

DeMarco had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. McNamara defends it easily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

DeMarco can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as McNamara controls the pace.

McNamara stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. DeMarco swivels though and keeps the full guard.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Sean McNamara hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Sloppy strikes from McNamara. Those never looked like landing.
Horrible takedown by McNamara or perhaps it was just good defense by DeMarco which made him look bad.
McNamara throws a right hand that DeMarco ducks under and follows up with a left that DeMarco also avoids with ease.

McNamara tries to clinch up.
DeMarco throws a series of punches but McNamara moves out of range.
McNamara lands with a nice combination. DeMarco backs away looking to recover.
DeMarco fakes high and swings low for a body shot but McNamara manages to avoid it.

McNamara shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches DeMarco napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

McNamara is looking to take a break and control but DeMarco is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
McNamara throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


No luck with that takedown attempt from DeMarco.
McNamara has a takedown stuffed.
McNamara fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
DeMarco looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
McNamara dodges the punch combination from DeMarco.
McNamara shoots in but no luck this time.
Horrible takedown by DeMarco or perhaps it was just good defense by McNamara which made him look bad.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Don Juan DeMarco. That's going to take a lot out of him.

DeMarco throws a leg kick which misses McNamara's front leg but catches the back leg as McNamara tries to avoid it.

DeMarco shoots in looking for a takedown. McNamara tries to sprawl out of it but DeMarco keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. McNamara manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

DeMarco fakes high and swings low for a body shot but McNamara manages to avoid it.

McNamara lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
DeMarco shoots in for a takedown but McNamara shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
DeMarco stuffs the takedown attempt from McNamara. McNamara gets slowly back to his feet.

McNamara takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
DeMarco tries to close the distance and clinch up but McNamara swats him away and circles back towards the center.

McNamara breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

The fight stays on the outside here - McNamara looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

McNamara shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
McNamara wants to control from the top but DeMarco keeps moving.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

A close second round but Sean McNamara will probably get the nod - 10:9.

DeMarco uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before McNamara has time to react.

DeMarco changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. McNamara looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
You can see the frustration on McNamara's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
McNamara is not in a great position here, taking some shots.

McNamara pushes DeMarco away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, DeMarco gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
McNamara is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
McNamara takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
McNamara is looking to work his way out of this bad position but DeMarco is controlling him well.

McNamara will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
