Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ilkka Mursu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kurt Hurt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mursu comes to the cage accompanied by Someday I'll be the Champ. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mursu walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Mursu throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Hurt tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Mursu is in Hurt's guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Mursu is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Hurt looking for a sweep. Not yet Hurt, not yet.
Hurt looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Hurt avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Hurt is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Mursu is controlling him.
Mursu chips away with some ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hurt is looking to stand up but Mursu isn't so interested in that idea.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Mursu looking to pass the guard.
Hurt is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Mursu stands and throws Hurt's legs to the side, diving into side control.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Mursu is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Hurt looks calm but he's in trouble here. Mursu gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Hurt is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Mursu lets go of the hold and Hurt can pop his arm back in it's socket.

In his post fight interview, Ilkka Mursu started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
