The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shoot fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Maya avoids it really well and circles away.
Maya defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Shoot.
Shoot misses with a few strikes there.
Maya swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Maya connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

Shoot shoots in and gets a takedown into Maya's guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Maya manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Maya chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Shoot fails with an attempt to clinch.
Maya throws a head kick that Shoot semi-blocks.
Shoot closes the distance and clinches up with Maya, looking for a takedown. Shoot pushes Maya against the cage but Maya circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Razor Maya has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dante Shoot.
Shoot tries to close the distance and clinch but Maya swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Shoot gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Shoot fails with a takedown attempt.

Maya throws a head kick that Shoot semi-blocks.
Maya feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Shoot's calf.
Shoot looks gassed!
Maya throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

It looks like Dante Shoot has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Shoot takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Maya lands a brutal head kick. Shoot looks out on his feet and Maya throws more strikes until the ref is forced to stop the fight!
