The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A slapping leg kick lands for Mopsi.
VanVactor with a poor takedown
and Mopsi counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Mopsi tries to close the distance and clinch but VanVactor swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
VanVactor fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Mopsi with a body punch. A glancing blow.
VanVactor shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Mopsi but Mopsi pushes him off and we're back to square one.

An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Mopsi.
VanVactor on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

Mopsi misses with an elbow strike.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.

VanVactor is trying to break the clinch but Mopsi is controlling him.

Mopsi lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Mopsi throws a low kick but VanVactor moves out of range easily.

and Mopsi makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. VanVactor really felt that one!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Mopsi dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on VanVactor. That did some damage!

VanVactor fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Mopsi to the ground. VanVactor is now in Mopsi's guard.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Barde Mopsi hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
VanVactor ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Mopsi moves away.
VanVactor blocks a head kick by Mopsi.
Mopsi lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but VanVactor circles away quickly and effectively.
VanVactor checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
VanVactor misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Mopsi.
VanVactor throws a looping overhand right but Mopsi ducks down to avoid it.

VanVactor tests Mopsi's chin there with a solid looking shot.

Mopsi takes the fight into the clinch.

Mopsi lands a hook that snaps the head of VanVactor backwards.
VanVactor tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
VanVactor is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Mopsi gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Mopsi wants to control the action here but instead VanVactor manages to pass to full mount!

Mopsi is in all sorts of trouble here.
VanVactor throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
Mopsi in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
VanVactor has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
VanVactor thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Mopsi is in all sorts of trouble here.

VanVactor postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Mopsi looks a forlorn figure.
VanVactor sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Mopsi is desperately trying to improve his position but VanVactor has a good base and remains in mount.

Mopsi stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. VanVactor swivels though and keeps the full guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

VanVactor working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mopsi doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Mopsi manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

VanVactor tries to score a power double leg takedown but Mopsi sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten VanVactor somewhat.

Mopsi defends well against a solid takedown attempt from VanVactor.
VanVactor avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Barde Mopsi is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Mopsi lands a really nice looking cross but VanVactor seems unphased.
