Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Marge Power (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Akio Masaru (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Marge Power!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Akio Masaru!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Power throws a hook to the side of Masaru's head but Masaru sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Masaru has a takedown stuffed.
Power connects with the punch.
Power cracks Masaru with a big right hand and Masaru goes down!


Masaru is rocked!
Masaru working a defensive guard here.
Masaru is still in real trouble! Can Power finish him?
Masaru keeping moving, preventing Power from controlling successfully.

Power drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Masaru manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Power has Masaru in his guard.
Masaru seems to have recovered his senses.
Power wants to improve his position but instead Masaru has moved into half guard.
Masaru is looking to advance position but Power won't allow it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Power is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Power is working hard here to advance position.

Masaru looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Power knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Masaru on the ground.
Power wants to get back to full guard.

Masaru is working for a submission of some sort.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Masaru prevents Power from improving his position.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Masaru avoids the head kick by Power.
Power cracks Masaru with an uppercut from hell and Masaru crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of Power's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!

Power thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Masaru lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Power!

Masaru goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Power turns into him and now he's in Masaru's guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Masaru working a defensive guard here.
Masaru wants to sweep here but Power controlling him for the moment.
Masaru is pulling down on Power's head to control his posture.

Masaru working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Power has passed into half guard!
Masaru looks gassed!
Power is looking to take a break and control but Masaru is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Masaru regains full guard. Nicely done.
Power wants to get up but he can't break Masaru's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Power passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Masaru regains half guard there - taking advantage of Power's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
Power wants to lay and pray for a moment but Masaru keeps working.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Marge Power dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Power throws a leg kick which misses Masaru's front leg but catches the back leg as Masaru tries to avoid it.
Masaru avoids the head kick by Power.
Power throws a front kick aimed at Masaru's knee but Masaru avoids it well.
Masaru missing with a left hand there. Power was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
A leg kick checked by Masaru.
Power works the jab nicely.
Power throws a sloppy head kick and Masaru moves out of range easily.
Masaru keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Power throws a right and a left that Masaru avoids nicely.
Power with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Power misses with a low kick.
Masaru gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
A big right from Masaru misses.
Power throws a nice outside leg kick.
Marge Power seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Masaru takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
A head kick by Power - that's a beauty! Masaru is out but he's somehow still standing... he's going... going... gone. Like a drunk walking down the middle of the road, the inevitable face plant follows and the delayed knockout arrives. Even Power can't help but laugh at the bizarre end to this one!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Marge Power!
