Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Blake The Snake!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The Snake swats away the attempt to clinch by Recto.
Recto is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
The Snake fails with the takedown

and Recto counters with a takedown into side control.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Recto wants to lay and pray for a moment but The Snake keeps working.
The referee asks Recto politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Recto prefers to stall for the moment though.
Recto lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear The Snake down.

Recto is looking to take a break and control but The Snake is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Carlo Recto has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Recto doesn't manage to clinch there - The Snake circles away.

It looks like Carlo Recto has been cut.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Recto in particular looking to stall.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The Snake is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Recto slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Carlo Recto.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Recto looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
The Snake has hold of Recto's hands but Recto slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Recto could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Recto slips a nice elbow through The Snake's hands, connecting with The Snake's forehead.

Recto knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for The Snake on the ground.
Recto takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Recto looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Recto wants to pass the guard but The Snake is defending well.
Recto is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Recto takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Recto content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

The Snake is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Despite being in a bad position, Recto is controlling the hands, preventing any submission attempts.

Recto has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of The Snake's face.

The Snake is bucking up trying to escape but Recto cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
The Snake is still in real trouble! Can Recto finish him?

The Snake takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Recto's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.
