The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie leaves Hammer with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Hammer is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Gracie pulls his head out easily.
Gracie wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hammer keeps working.

Gracie is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Hammer can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Gracie has hold of Hammer's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Hammer manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Hammer tries to control Gracie's body but Gracie pushes him off. Hammer squirms to his side and now Gracie has his back!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
