Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Shaune Scally (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Charlie Maccarone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Charlie Maccarone will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A low kick from Maccarone misses

and Scally counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Maccarone wants to control but Scally is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Maccarone is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Scally is staying active.

Scally seems to be working for a kimura but Maccarone defends the submission attempt.

Scally is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Maccarone is just riding it out for now. Scally eventually gives up the hold.
Maccarone is looking for a sweep. Scally is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Scally is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Maccarone keeps control of the position for the meantime.

The fighters are battling for position here. Maccarone manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Scally stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Maccarone swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Maccarone has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Scally can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Maccarone had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Scally defends it easily.

Scally drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Scally jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Maccarone is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Scally has gone for a leg lock! Maccarone slips out almost immediately though and dives into Scally's guard.

Scally looking for a guillotine here but Maccarone defends easily.
