Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Eddie Pitney (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cleto Rodriquez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cleto Rodriquez has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Eddie Pitney!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 25 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Cleto Rodriquez!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pitney with a poor takedown
and Rodriquez counters with an outside leg kick.

Rodriquez changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Pitney looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Pitney tries to improve position but can't.
Rodriquez throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

Rodriquez is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Pitney is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Pitney is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Pitney takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
You can see the frustration on Pitney's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Rodriquez goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Pitney has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Rodriquez but great work by Pitney.

Pitney tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Pitney has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Pitney goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Rodriquez rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Pitney's guard! Nice work there by Rodriquez!

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Pitney is on top in guard.

Pitney shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Pitney showed some decent athleticism there.

That was a close round but I would say that Eddie Pitney will probably get the nod.

Rodriquez lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Rodriquez working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Rodriquez wants to lay and pray for a moment but Pitney keeps working.
Cleto Rodriquez has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
