PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vadim Alexeev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeff Messer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Messer is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Walk of the lumberjack by Death Angel. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Aleksandr Martynov and Fedor Mirinova.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Messer lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Alexeev backs up against the cage.
Alexeev takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Messer stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Messer wants it to stay on the feet.
Messer lands a body shot.
Alexeev tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Messer manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Alexeev moves forwards but Messer connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Alexeev fails with the takedown
and Messer cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

and Messer connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vadim Alexeev. That's going to take a lot out of him.

It looks like Vadim Alexeev has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Alexeev is breathing heavily.
Alexeev walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Messer scores with a jab to the head.
Alexeev doesn't manage to clinch there - Messer circles away.
Messer fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
A punch lands to the side of Alexeev 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Messer throws a left jab followed by a right to the body, Oh Alexeev colapses and takes a barrage of punches from Messer as he moves to mount! the ref stops the fight and Alexeev is left battered and dazed whilst Messer and his camp cheer!

After winning the bout, Jeff Messer thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
