Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Hannabil Barka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johny Hughes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Hannabil Barka!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Johny Hughes!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Phil Schofield and Daniel Bishop.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fighters circle momentarily. Hughes darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Johny Hughes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Barka closes the distance and clinches up with Hughes, looking for a takedown. Barka pushes Hughes against the cage but Hughes circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Barka looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Hughes is fending him off so far but Barka persists. Nope, Hughes circles away and we're back to standing.
Barka tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Hughes swivels and escapes.

Barka seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Hughes for as long as he can get away with.

Barka cracks Hughes with a big right hand but Hughes just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Barka remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
