The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yon misses with a wild body shot.
Horrible takedown by Yon or perhaps it was just good defense by McCoy which made him look bad.

McCoy shoots in and bounces Yon off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
McCoy wants to control from the top but Yon keeps moving.
McCoy is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Yon is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

McCoy avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Yon looking for a sweep. Not yet Yon, not yet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Yon throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Yon creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through McCoy's defenses.

McCoy is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Yon escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. McCoy gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

That's time! McCoy's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Yon looks to score with a jab to the body but McCoy is just out of range.
Yon scores with a sloppy right hand. McCoy should have avoided that one.
Some wild striking there from Yon.
McCoy lands a nice shot that snaps Yon's head back.

McCoy closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
McCoy knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Yon on the ground.
Yon is trying to control McCoy's posture but McCoy avoids it.
Yon is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but McCoy is staying active.
Yon might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control McCoy kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
The referee asks McCoy politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. McCoy prefers to stall for the moment though.
McCoy seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Yon for as long as he can get away with.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
McCoy is stalling here. Yon is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! McCoy seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Yon has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Yon wants to control but McCoy is keeping him busy.
Yon tries to score with some ground and pound. McCoy controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Yon misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
