Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Akbahi King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robert West (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying West's choice of entrance music: Cee Lo Green - F-bomb. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Akbahi King!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Robert West!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Micheangelo Fripello and Colin Fray.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

King gets in close and instigates a clinch.
West is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
West with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.


It looks like Akbahi King has been cut.
West lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.

King misses with a punch on the inside.
King has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. West avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
King tries to score a body lock takedown but West shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
West gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from King.

King wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but West has him pressed against the cage.

King throws a series of punches but West moves out of range.

King looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
It looks like King is going to stand back up.

King might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
King slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

King forces West back against the cage and clinches.
