Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Baldomir Zsofka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pete Patterson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Patterson has chosen "I'm Too Sexy" as his entrance music. Pete Patterson will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Baldomir Zsofka!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Pete Patterson!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Yukihiro Shimada and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zsofka chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Patterson can pounce on him.
Patterson feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Zsofka's calf.

Patterson drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Patterson stands and steps away. Zsofka gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Zsofka closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Patterson tries to kick Zsofka off but Zsofka keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Zsofka got a little sloppy there for a moment and Patterson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Zsofka has managed to get both his arms back between Patterson's legs - danger averted.
Patterson wants to stand but Zsofka is controlling the position.
Zsofka has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Zsofka wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Zsofka is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Patterson wants to get up but he can't break Zsofka's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Zsofka had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Patterson defends it easily.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Patterson connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Zsofka some visible discomfort.
Zsofka is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Patterson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Zsofka.

Patterson takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

Zsofka throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Zsofka here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

Zsofka has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Patterson is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Oh but Zsofka is tightening it up a little... Patterson has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Patterson reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Patterson taps out! Nice BJJ there by Zsofka!

Baldomir Zsofka very nearly forgot to thank M/S Paint Fightwear amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name. Hopefully he'll get a few nice freebies in the mail as a thank you.
