Thompson cracks Buckknuckle with a good jab.
Buckknuckle throws a shot from downtown. Thompson moves away and avoids it.

Thompson tries to work over Buckknuckle's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Buckknuckle changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Thompson fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Buckknuckle shoots in for a takedown but Thompson shows good takedown defense.

Thompson takes the fight into the clinch.
Thompson is pushing Buckknuckle up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Thompson tries a body shot but Buckknuckle blocks it.

Buckknuckle manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Buckknuckle goes for a takedown attempt but Thompson pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Buckknuckle misses with a hook to the body
and Buckknuckle takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Buckknuckle tries to keep at a distance but Thompson has taken the fight into the clinch.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Thompson is defending well against a takedown attempt.

Thompson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Thompson scores with a body shot.
Buckknuckle throws a push kick but Thompson slaps the foot to one side.
Thompson fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Buckknuckle manages to avoid it.

Buckknuckle bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
You can see the frustration on Thompson's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Buckknuckle throws some wild stikes that Thompson manages to avoid easily.

Buckknuckle looking to secure an arm triangle but Thompson defends it well.
Thompson wants to hold on but Buckknuckle pushes him away.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Thompson is wriggling around trying to escape.
Thompson tries to lock up and control but Buckknuckle gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
BOOM! Buckknuckle connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Jet Thompson's cut is getting worse.
Buckknuckle thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
Buckknuckle landing strikes from the mount and Thompson is in trouble!

Jeez, Jet Thompson's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Jet Thompson's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

A relieved looking Elwood Buckknuckle thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
