The Greatest told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Voychenko misses with a takedown attempt - Greatest sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Vladimir Voychenko seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A clash of legs there as Greatest blocks the low kick.
Greatest motions for Voychenko to come forward. Greatest throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Voychenko blocks a head kick by Greatest.
Voychenko looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Greatest is fending him off so far but Voychenko persists. Nope, Greatest circles away and we're back to standing.
Greatest pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Voychenko throws a leg kick but Greatest sees it coming and moves out of range.
Voychenko circles away from the clinch attempt.
Greatest tries to clinch up but Voychenko circles away and keeps his distance.

Voychenko scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Greatest doesn't seem bothered though.

Voychenko shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Greatest napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Voychenko is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. Greatest is in real trouble.

Greatest defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Voychenko's arms.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Voychenko is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Greatest has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Voychenko has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Greatest taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Voychenko doesn't care though - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Vladimir Voychenko!
Vladimir Voychenko got down on his knees post fight and begged the management for a title shot. 'Please, I want that title shot so bad! Give it to me!'
