The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vasilyev looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Puukko is fending him off so far but Vasilyev persists. Nope, Puukko circles away and we're back to standing.
Vasilyev shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Puukko defends it nicely.
Puukko lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

Vasilyev manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Puukko on his heels. He'll look to pass Puukko's guard now, I'm sure.

Vasilyev is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Puukko is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Puukko has escaped and now he's on top!
Puukko has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Vasilyev is proving hard to escape from.

Puukko avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Vasilyev had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Puukko defends it easily.

Vasilyev looking for subs off his back but Puukko has passed one foot through into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Puukko seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Vasilyev moves into full guard.

Puukko is posturing up here but Vasilyev has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Puukko tries to roll out but it's too tight and Puukko has to tap! Slick submission there by Vasilyev!
