Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lars Martineau (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jamal Holmes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Jamal Holmes enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jamal Holmes!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, John Kavanagh and Chad Campbell.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Holmes enables Martineau to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Holmes manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Holmes has his foot on Martineau's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Martineau works his way back into a safe position though.
Martineau seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Holmes looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Martineau is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Lars Martineau wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Holmes throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Holmes misses with a jab, cross combination.

Martineau clinches up against the cage.

Martineau lands a body shot.
Holmes looks gassed!

Martineau manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Martineau is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Holmes tries to circle away but Martineau has him pinned against the cage.
Martineau is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Holmes tries to pull guard but Martineau holds him up against the cage and eventually Holmes drops back down to his feet.
Martineau lands a body punch.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Martineau scores with a nice hook to the head.
Martineau gets through Holmes's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Martineau throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Holmess head.

Holmes blocks the elbow strike.
Martineau lands with a left to the head.

Martineau jumps guard.
Martineau wants to stand but Holmes is controlling the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Holmes wants to control from the top but Martineau keeps moving.

Martineau has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Holmes off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Martineau feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Martineau gets to his feet - Holmes follows without any prompting.
Martineau lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Martineau.

It looks like Jamal Holmes has been cut.
Martineau Throws a clean left jab. Martineau Twirls his body and connects with a Spinning Back Fist that connects flush with Holmes's chin! Holmes crumbles to the ground and Martineau follows up with some unanswered strikes. It's all over!! Nice standup skills displayed by Martineau!

In his post fight interview, Lars Martineau started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
