PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jin Shmizu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Maciej Zegan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shmizu throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Zegan.

Zegan clinches up with Shmizu and pushes him back against the cage.
Zegan is pressed up against the cage. Shmizu has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Zegan down to the mat. Zegan avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Shmizu throws a head kick but Zegan moves out of range.

With the two fighters working up against the cage, Zegan just misses with a elbow thrown towards Shmizu's brow.

Zegan pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Zegan looks to land a combination. Shmizu sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Shmizu has Zegan pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Zegan manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Zegan has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Shmizu is proving hard to escape from.

Shmizu has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Zegan doesn't defend quickly enough and Shmizu has managed to lock this one up! Can Zegan escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Shmizu on a fantastic submission victory.
