Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mason Dixon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Trent Acid (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mason Dixon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Trent Acid!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Tarja Halkonen and Arvi Lind.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Acid has his takedown stuffed

and Dixon counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Dixon is working for a submission of some sort.
Acid looks like he's trying to stand up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dixon moves nicely into side control.

Acid prevents Dixon from moving into mount.
Dixon tries to score with some ground and pound. Acid controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Dixon throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Acid wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Dixon wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Acid, who protects the arm well.

Acid is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Dixon remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Mason Dixon has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Dixon wants to clinch up but Acid keeps it at a distance.
Acid shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Dixon pinned against the cage. Dixon gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Acid closes this distance looking for a takedown but Dixon circles away.

Acid thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Dixon's head.

Dixon bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Acid's guard.

Dixon decides to stand up, so the ref orders Acid to his feet.
Dixon misses with a head kick.
Dixon slaps away a takedown attempt from Acid, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Dixon connects with a high kick.
Acid fails with a takedown attempt.

Dixon dives in and scores a takedown into Acid's guard.

Acid keeping moving, preventing Dixon from controlling successfully.
Acid really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dixon. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Acid wants to stand and escape but Dixon is having none of it.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Mason Dixon wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Acid gets tackled into the cage by Dixon. Dixon maintains the clinch.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Acid tries to score a body lock takedown but Dixon shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Dixon breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Mason Dixon will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Dixon throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Acid's waist but Acid gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Dixon off to one side.
Dixon tries to close the distance and clinch up but Acid swats him away and circles back towards the center.

and Dixon decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Acid's guard.
Dixon wants to control from the top but Acid keeps moving.

Dixon shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Acid's guard.

Dixon drops back looking for a leg! Acid is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Acid manages to kick Dixon off! Dixon jumps back into Acid's guard.

Acid shoots in looking for a takedown but Dixon manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Acid's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Acid feints and as Dixon raises his hands in defense, Acid changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Dixon bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Acid's guard.

Dixon gets to his feet. Acid looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Acid swats away the attempt to clinch by Dixon.
Acid stuffs the takedown attempt from Dixon. Dixon gets slowly back to his feet.
Acid looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Dixon is fending him off so far but Acid persists. Nope, Dixon circles away and we're back to standing.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Dixon looks to land a combination but Acid avoids it well.
Dixon throws the left hand but Acid avoids the punch easily.
Trent Acid has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Mason Dixon is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
