Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Anaquod Irwin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vernon Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jones has chosen Sans Pression - L'étage Subterrain as his entrance music. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The judges for this bout are William Peck, Gregory Folan and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Irwin throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Irwin jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Anaquod Irwin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Irwin tries to close the distance and clinch but Jones swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Jones drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Irwin manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Jones has Irwin in his guard.
Jones is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Jones thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Jones stalks Irwin and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Irwin's face. Irwin staggers backwards, shaken.

and Jones counters with a takedown into side control.

Jones looks up at the clock and then as Irwin takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Jones smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Irwin is breathing heavily.

Jones tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Jones has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!

Jones is landing with some decent strikes but Irwin is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Jones postures up and throws a massive shot that knocks Irwin out cold! Two more strikes to his unconscious opponent for good luck and this one is all over! Jones goes absolutely crazy with his corner! Wow, you can see how much that win means to him!
