Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jeffrey Cass!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Alec Ball and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fighters circle momentarily. Poindexter darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Cass looking to score a takedown here. Poindexter is defending well but Cass drives through and ends up in Poindexter's guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Poindexter is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Cass content to stall in guard here.

Cass stands and steps away. Poindexter gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Cass throws a right hand that Poindexter ducks under and follows up with a left that Poindexter also avoids with ease.
Poindexter is looking to clinch.
No joy there for Poindexter, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Cass shoots in for a takedown but Poindexter shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Cass gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Poindexter has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Poindexter tries to pull guard but Cass holds him up against the cage and eventually Poindexter drops back down to his feet.

Cass has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Poindexter uses from the top position.
Poindexter looking to sit in guard and control but Cass gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Cass should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Cass postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Cass lands a couple of decent looking shots.

Poindexter knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Cass on the ground.

Cass winds up and cracks Poindexter with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Cass is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Cass has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Poindexter taking some punishment here, with Cass in his half guard.
Cass wants to lay and pray for a moment but Poindexter keeps working.
Cass takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Cass winds up and cracks Poindexter with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Nice strikes from Cass there.
Cass scoring with strikes to the body and head.

Cass has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Poindexter defend it? Cass steps over the head and cranks it - Poindexter is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Cass!
