Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Holden James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Otto Vetch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). James comes to the cage accompanied by Aerials. Vetch has chosen Lamb of God- Walk With Me In Hell as his entrance music. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Holden James!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Otto Vetch!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

James gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Vetch trying to control but James is working from the bottom.
Vetch trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Vetch drops back looking for a leg! James is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and James manages to kick Vetch off! Vetch jumps back into James's guard.

Otto Vetch has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
James blocks a head kick by Vetch.

Sloppy strikes from Vetch. Those never looked like landing.
Vetch doesn't manage to clinch there - James circles away.
James wants to clinch.
Vetch takes one on the button.
Vetch avoids the head kick by James.
Vetch throws a wild body kick that James sees coming a mile off.
Vetch throws a head kick that misses.
Vetch throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
James on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
James on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Holden James is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Vetch blocks a head kick by James.
Vetch is looking to clinch but James is avoiding it.
James thows a left - swing and a miss!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Vetch throws a nice outside leg kick.
Vetch fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
James looks to throw the jab but Vetch is out of range.
James on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Vetch. Vetch obviously looking to wear him down.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as James checks a leg kick.
Vetch tries to clinch but James moves out of range.
James misses with an uppercut
and Vetch cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Vetch avoids the head kick by James.

James clinches with his opponent.

James tries to break free but Vetch pushes him back against the cage.
James lands an elbow that stopped Vetch in his tracks for a moment.
James misses with a hook from the clinch.
James is trying to stall.
Vetch avoids the elbow strike from James, against the cage.
James fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
A short right from Vetch.
Vetch lands a shoulder strike.

Vetch breaks from the clinch.
Nice defenses there by Vetch.
Vetch lands a nice leg kick that just misses James's sensitive parts.
James swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Vetch scores with a push kick.
Vetch uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by James.

James gets tackled into the cage by Vetch. Vetch maintains the clinch.
Vetch doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Vetch misses with a hook from the clinch.
Vetch blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
James is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Vetch's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.
Vetch misses with a hook to the ribs.
Vetch lands a hook to the side of the head.
James prevents a body shot from Vetch.
James looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Vetch lands with a short shot to the head.
Vetch will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning James up against the cage.
James misses with an elbow over the top.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
A head punch on the inside from Vetch fails to land.
A nice right hand lands inside from James.
A short uppercut from James.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Vetch.

Vetch breaks from the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Otto Vetch dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Vetch is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Vetch.
Vetch tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
James jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Vetch tries to close the distance and clinch up but James swats him away and circles back towards the center.
A clash of legs there as James blocks the low kick.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from James.
Vetch motions for James to come forward. Vetch throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Vetch tries to clinch there but James circles away.
Otto Vetch seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Vetch is looking to clinch but James is avoiding it.
Vetch uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before James has time to react.

The fight stays on the outside here - Vetch looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
James on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
James misses with a straight left.
Vetch tries to clinch up but James circles away and keeps his distance.

Vetch has James up against the cage in a clinch.
Vetch can't find room to land a body shot as James controls the action.
James has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
James slowing the pace effectively.

James pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
A solid body kick from Vetch.
A slow jab from James misses its intended target.
Vetch fails with an attempt to clinch.

Nice shot by Vetch.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
James closes the distance and clinches.
Vetch goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
James's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Vetch breaks from the clinch.
Vetch tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but James paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Vetch feints and as James raises his hands in defense, Vetch changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Vetch wants to control from the top but James keeps moving.

James is trying to keep Vetch in close.
Vetch is stalling in the full guard.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Otto Vetch hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Vetch.
Vetch misses with a takedown attempt - James sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

James gets a clinch.
James blocks a punch to the side of the head.
A quick uppercut on the inside from James.

Vetch breaks the clinch.
James misses with a kick to the body
and Vetch counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Otto Vetch seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Vetch tries to close the distance and clinch but James swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Vetch shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Holden James has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Otto Vetch.
Vetch wants to clinch up but James keeps it at a distance.
James lands the left hand.
Vetch uses good head movement to avoid the hook from James.
James slips a straight right by Vetch.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
James moves in looking to clinch but Vetch pushes him off.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Vetch closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into James's guard.

Otto Vetch showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


James throws a shot from downtown. Vetch moves away and avoids it.
Vetch fails in his attempt to clinch.

Vetch trying to control the position from guard on top but James is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
James is trying to keep Vetch in close.
Vetch pushes down on James's leg and manages to get into half guard.
James tries to get to full guard but Vetch has control of the leg.

Vetch is looking for a kimura here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Vetch is trying to work for a kimura but James is defending well.

Vetch is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

James is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
James is looking to get back to full guard here but Vetch has managed to pass to side control instead.

Vetch has hold of James's arm. He's looking for a kimura. James seems comfortable defending it but Vetch has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! James is real pain and he's forced to tap out! James is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Vetch couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:47 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Otto Vetch!
Otto Vetch tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
