The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab from Rand misses.
Rand's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Roger connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Rand scrambles back to his feet.

Rand has closed the distance and engaged Roger in a clinch.
Roger wants a takedown.
Roger is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Rand pulls him back up using the underhooks.
A nice right hand lands inside from Rand.

Roger turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Roger tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.

The ground and pound from Roger seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Roger has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Roger thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Roger tries to score with some ground and pound. Rand controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Roger is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Rand has escaped the position, nice work there.
Roger misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Rand is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Roger throwing strikes but Rand manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!
Roger gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Roger wants to improve his position but Rand is controlling well.
Roger is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Rand's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Rand's back!

Rand covers up after that shot from Roger.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rand is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.

Rand defends a prolonged rear naked choke attempt and turns nicely into his opponent's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rand has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Roger is proving hard to escape from.

Rand get's back to his feet.
Rand throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Roger.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Roger closes the distance and clinches up with Rand, looking for a takedown. Roger pushes Rand against the cage but Rand circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Daniel Rand has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Roger D Roger.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Rand fails with an attempt to clinch.
Rand blocks the body kick.
Rand cracks Roger with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rand throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Roger on the side of the head.

Rand slips under a jab.
The fighters circle, before Rand throws a beautiful high kick that crashes into Roger's neck, sending him stumbling to the floor! Rand lands more strikes and forces a referee stoppage! That one ended in an instant!
