Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jeffy Jefferson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Buakaw Kit (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Jefferson might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Fette's Vette. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kit keeps Jefferson at a distance using the push kick.
Kit throws an overhand right that lands on Jefferson's shoulder, as Jefferson tries to avoid the shot.
Jefferson shoots in but Kit avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Jefferson ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
A head kick by Kit misses
enabling Jefferson to counter with a crisp jab.
Jefferson is trying hard to land a takedown here. Kit sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Jefferson shoots for a double leg takedown but Kit sprawls well. He's pushed Jefferson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jeffy Jefferson. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Buakaw Kit seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kit wants to land a leg kick but Jefferson is out of range.
Kit pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Jefferson on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Jefferson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kit tries to avoid it but Jefferson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kit to the ground. Kit escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Kit feints and then cracks Jefferson's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Jefferson down.
Kit ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Jefferson moves away.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Kit shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Jefferson eats them both and turns towards Kit to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Kit throws a nice outside leg kick.
Kit misses with a hook
and Jefferson counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Jefferson seems to be working for a kimura but Kit defends the submission attempt.
Jefferson misses with a head shot. Kit uses the momentum to regain guard.
Jefferson trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Kit is on top in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kit is stalling in the full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Kit won't allow Jefferson to sweep him here.
Jefferson looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Jefferson wants to get back to his feet but Kit is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Jefferson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Kit gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Kit has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Jefferson to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Kit is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Jefferson pulls down on the head and he's put Kit to sleep! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Jeffy Jefferson!
