PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Greg Chang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hyde Vamp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Hyde Vamp was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Greg Chang!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Hyde Vamp!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Trevor Gratis and Elvis Blanc.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vamp misses the shot to the body.
Chang gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Chang lands a lovely overhand right.

It looks like Hyde Vamp has been cut.
Chang throws a sloppy head kick and Vamp moves out of range easily.
Vamp throws a right and a left that both miss.
Vamp keeps the fight on the outside.
Vamp bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
The fight stays on the outside here - Chang looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Vamp thows a body shot but no joy.
Chang lands with a kick to the temple. Vamp shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Chang throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Chang misses the shot to the body.
Chang tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Vamp paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Chang uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Vamp.
Vamp with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Chang to score with a decent uppercut.
Chang throws a hook but Vamp avoids it easily.
Vamp takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Chang misses with an uppercut. Vamp saw that one coming.
Vamp looks to land a left hand but Chang moved out of range nicely.
Greg Chang seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Chang thows a body shot but no joy.
Chang throws a head kick but Vamp moves out of range.
Chang misses with a straight right.
A head kick lands from Chang that sends Vamp to the canvas. Vamp tries to scramble back to his feet but Chang brings him back down into side control.

Vamp is rocked!
Vamp wants to get back to his feet but Chang drags him back down.
Vamp is still in real trouble! Can Chang finish him?
Chang misses with the ground and pound.
Vamp seems to have recovered his senses.

Chang wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Vamp, who protects the arm well.
Vamp is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Vamp should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Chang is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Vamp has escaped the position, nice work there.

Vamp is pushing Chang's head away, looking to escape. Chang manages to hold on to the position though.

Chang tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Chang wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Vamp, who protects the arm well.

Chang swings around for an armbar but Vamp sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Chang's guard.

Vamp gets to his feet - Chang follows without any prompting.
Chang pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Vamp slips a jab and a cross from Chang.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Chang lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Chang.

That has opened up Hyde Vamp's cut even more.
Some wild striking there from Chang.
Chang is breathing heavily.
Vamp throws a looping overhand right but Chang ducks down to avoid it.
Chang slips under a jab from Vamp.
Chang has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Vamp finds it's way round the side to connect with Chang's head.
Chang throws a right and a left that Vamp avoids nicely.
Vamp rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Chang moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Vamp misses with a double jab.
Vamp keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Chang.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Chang throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Vamp counters with a right hand to the body.
Vamp takes a swing at Chang's ribcage but misses.
Chang throws a sloppy head kick and Vamp moves out of range easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Chang looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Oooh a lovely combination from Vamp sends Chang down but not out. Vamp dives into side control looking to finish.

Chang is rocked!
Vamp connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Chang some visible discomfort.
Oh Chang is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Vamp decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Vamp connects with a good straight punch right through the guard and follows up with a right hook and a left hook! That last one sent Chang tumbling to the canvas! Vamp pours on the pressure with more strikes and the referee has no hesitation diving in to stop the fight! Chang was done - good stoppage!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:26 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Hyde Vamp!
