The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smido blocks a jab.
Pierre throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Smido cracks Pierre with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Pierre throws an overhand right that lands on Smido's shoulder, as Smido tries to avoid the shot.
Pierre swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Pierre steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Smido.
Smido throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Pierre sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Pierre connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Pierre slips under a jab.
Pierre takes a swing at Smido's ribcage but misses.
Pierre throws a jab but it's blocked by Smido.
Smido misses with a two punch combination.
Pierre works Smido's body with a nice hook.

Pierre takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Smido throws a solid leg kick but Pierre takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Smido.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Smido rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Pierre moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

A close round but Snabbo Smido will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Pierre sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

Snabbo Smido seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Smido fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Pierre has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Smido paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

Smido shoots in for a double leg but Pierre sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Smido comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Pierre shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Smido eats them both and turns towards Pierre to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Well Smido has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
