PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Cugler Araujo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryan Engle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Araujo comes into the arena with Next Episode - Snoop Dogg blaring out of the sound system. Engle has chosen Sorry you're not a winner-Enter Shikari as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Cugler Araujo looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Paul Aken and Daniel Blasius.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sloppy strikes from Araujo. Those never looked like landing.
Engle misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Engle lands with a slapping head kick.
Araujo missing with a left hand there. Engle was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Engle looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Araujo throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Nice uppercut there from Engle.
Araujo throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Engle is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Engle fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Araujo avoids it really well and circles away.

Engle drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Araujo dodges the ground and pound from Engle.
Araujo is breathing heavily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Engle looks up at the clock and then as Araujo takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Engle smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Engle postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Engle working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
You can see the frustration on Araujo's face as Engle controls the position.
Araujo is trying to buck Engle off.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Engle looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Araujo is avoiding damage well.
Engle is putting a hurting on Araujo here, landing some big shots from side control.

Engle throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

Engle is looking to take a break and control but Araujo is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Araujo managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Engle.
Engle tries to move into full mount but can't pass Araujo's legs.
Engle fails to land a wild elbow strike.

Engle works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.

Araujo is rocked!
Araujo is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Oh Araujo is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Engle in side control here. He's dropped a big elbow there and Araujo looks hurt! Oh, he is hurt! Engle turns on the heat and pounds him out for a TKO victory! Good killer instinct there!

A less than humble Ryan Engle misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
