The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Donk. Baxter catches Read right on the button with a cross.
Baxter scores with a jab.
The fight stays on the outside here - Read looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Baxter is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Read.

It looks like James Read has been cut.
Read closes the distance but Baxter moves to the side
and Baxter counters with an outside leg kick.
Read tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Baxter holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Baxter throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Reads head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Baxter pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Read tries to clinch up but Baxter circles away and keeps his distance.

Read tries to score a power double leg takedown but Baxter sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Read somewhat.

James Read seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Read uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Baxter.

Read tries to close the distance and clinch up but Baxter swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Baxter comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Baxter connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Read's hands.

Read is rocked!

Baxter cracks Read on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Read falls backwards against the cage. Baxter follows up with more strikes that drop Read to his knees. Baxter keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Read! This one is all over!
